MKE or O'Hare?

Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is the closer and simpler option: one terminal, two concourses and a 15 to 25 minute drive to downtown. Chicago O'Hare offers more nonstop and international flights, but it is about 78 miles from downtown Milwaukee and the drive usually takes 75 to 95 minutes before Illinois traffic. Many Milwaukee travelers fly MKE for domestic trips and O'Hare for long-haul flights; we cover both with the same standards.

Meeting your chauffeur

At MKE the whole operation happens on one level: arriving passengers come down to baggage claim, where a meet-and-greet chauffeur waits with a printed sign, and curbside pickups happen at the baggage-claim-level curb after the chauffeur leaves the cell-phone lot. At O'Hare we confirm the terminal and door before you land, because the airport has four active passenger terminals and each has its own commercial pickup area. In both cases you receive the chauffeur name and phone number ahead of time, so a quick text is all it takes if plans change.

Groups and heavy luggage

A sedan carries up to three passengers with three bags. For four to six travelers, or anyone with ski equipment, golf bags or large cases, book the Cadillac Escalade. Teams and wedding parties of up to fourteen can land together and ride in one Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with the pickup timed to the last arriving flight.

Departure timing

For MKE departures we set the pickup from your flight time, your address and the traffic for that hour; the afternoon slowdown on eastbound I-94 near the Mitchell Interchange is the one to plan around. For O'Hare departures we work backwards from boarding time with a margin for the tollway, the state line and winter weather.
